JOB PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Director - Public Relations and Communication, the Videographer/Editor (MCG/AVT 5) is responsible for providing videographic shooting of footage, sound mixing, video editing and packaging to support the the Rural Agricultural Development Authority’s (RADA), Communication and Public Relations Programme; the training activities, programmes and all priority projects, and those funded by international agencies.
KEY OUTPUTS:
- Training Videos produced: footage shot, edited, packaged and updated in keeping with emerging trends for the creation of training videos to highlight best agricultural practices in:
- open field production;
- protected cultivation
- harvesting; and
- post-harvest handling techniques.
- Demonstration Videos: footage for demonstration videos in support of the Ministry’s priority programmes e.g. Farmer Registration, Hurricane Preparedness, Backyard Garden Production shot, edited and packaged for use on a parish-by-parish basis.
- Footage for the production of videos highlighting RADA initiatives
- Electronic News Gathering (ENG): news-related video footage shot, edited and packaged for broadcast and archival purposes
- Specialized Videos: footage for the production of externally funded project-related specialized videos shot, edited and packaged
- Post-production Sound Mixing - post-production sound mixing executed as appropriate, in keeping with established broadcast standards
- Technical Editing: post-recording (i.e. video recording) technical editing executed to meet broadcast standards and for use of RADA’s website, videos packaged and archived to facilitate easy access to material.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Produces videos for farmer Field Days and other training activities in support of RADA’s Extension Service Delivery Programme
- Produces demonstration videos to be used on a parish-by-parish basis in support of the Ministry’s priority programmes, such as Farmer Registration, Hurricane Preparedness, Backyard Garden Production
- Produces specialized videos for externally funded projects
- Produces news-related videos for commercial broadcast and purposes
- Ensures broadcast standard lighting for all shoots
- Interprets scripts provided by project Directors
- Shoots footage are concurrent with the objectives of the project
- Executes in studio, post-production sound mixing using computerized sound mixing systems
- Edits footage using computerized video editor
- Packages footage to produce completed video in accordance with commercial broadcast standards
- Maintains ongoing liaison with commercial television stations
- Maintains video camera, computerized sound and editing equipment in optimal working order
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs any other related duties which may be assigned from time to time.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Broadcast quality training videos shot, edited and packaged in keeping with accepted standards
- Demonstration videos produced to broadcast standards
- Videos produced for the Research and Development/RADA and duplicated for demonstration/field days within agreed timeframe.
- News-related video footage for the Ministry’s priority programmes shot, edited,
- packaged and delivered to commercial television stations within agreed
- timeframe and stipulated standards
- Videos and footage archived and stored for easy access and reference according to standards and within the agreed timeframe
- Video recording, sound mixing and editing equipment maintained at optimal standard.
- Key deliverables produced within agreed time-frames to meet both internal and external deadlines
- Proficiency and creativity shown in the use of camcorder, sound mixing and video editing machinery at all times
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with Certification in video production - Film, Videography or Visual Arts from CPTC, CARIMAC or other recognized institutions
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in broadcast video production, sound, lighting and editing systems
