Job Purpose:
The Public Relations/Communication Specialist is responsible for implementing RADA’s communication and public relations strategies. The role ensures clear, timely, and accurate dissemination of information to internal and external stakeholders while promoting the Authority’s programmes, interventions, and national contributions to agricultural development.
The Specialist will lead communication efforts for emergency response, ensuring that the public, farmers, and partner agencies receive reliable updates. The position also strengthens RADA’s visibility, public image, and stakeholder engagement across multiple media platforms.

Communication Support for Field Operations
Assist with the preparation of print articles, feature stories, website content and public education materials.
Support the planning and execution of public awareness campaigns and community engagement activities.
Contribute to capturing and creating content for social media, photography, multimedia documentation, and public messaging
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Manage and enhance public perception of RADA through consistent brand messaging.
Prepare and distribute press releases, media advisories, speeches, and public statements.
Serve as the principal contact for media houses and coordinate interviews, features, and coverage.
Craft targeted messaging for farmers, stakeholders, and national partners.
Lead communication efforts during emergencies (e.g., hurricanes, drought, disease outbreaks).
Coordinate timely updates on agricultural sector damage assessments, recovery activities, and support programmes.
Provide communication support for disaster response operations and high-risk incidents.
Develop high-quality content for newsletters, brochures, annual reports, social media, and website updates.
Produce scripts, talking points, and briefs for senior management.
Oversee production of multimedia content including photos, videos, and infographics.
Maintain strong relationships with farmers, media houses, government entities, and external partners.
Design and execute stakeholder engagement campaigns to support registration, traceability, extension activities, and major programmes.
Support communication needs of parish offices and field teams.
Manage RADA’s official social media platforms with timely and relevant content.
Monitor social media engagement, public queries, and feedback.
Track analytics to measure reach and impact of communication initiatives.
Strengthen internal communication channels including staff memos, bulletins, and updates.
Support coordination of staff engagement events and internal messaging during organizational changes or emergencies.
Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and public touchpoints.
Oversee promotional campaigns for key agricultural initiatives, exhibitions, and public events.
Prepare communication reports, media monitoring summaries, and impact assessments.
Maintain documentation of media coverage, communication outputs, and stakeholder interactions.
Collaborate closely with the Customer Service Representative to provide coordinated responses to customer inquiries and complaints in alignment with established ISO service and quality standards.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs any other related duties which may be assigned from time to time
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Annual and quarterly work plans submitted on time and aligned with RADA’s corporate objectives, with at least 90% implementation each quarter.
Press releases, public statements, and advisories produced within 24 hours of requests or emerging issues.
All communication materials produced must be accurate, grammatically correct, and professionally formatted.
Media queries acknowledged within 2 hours and resolved within 8–24 hours, supported by monthly media monitoring and post-event coverage reports.
Social media platforms updated daily (or per schedule) with monthly analytics reports showing improved engagement.
Internal communication notices disseminated within required timelines, including same-day dissemination for urgent matters.
At least one major publication (newsletter, bulletin, or article) produced each quarter, with high-quality content meeting professional standards.
Effective communication support provided to parish offices, ministries, partners, and stakeholders, with materials that strengthen public perception and engagement.
All communication activities, reports, and media outputs properly documented, archived, and submitted monthly, quarterly, and annually on schedule.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB
- May be required to travel islandwide to support parish offices.
- Must be available for emergency deployment during disaster events or urgent communication needs.
- Must be able to work extended hours when necessary, especially during national emergencies or ministerial directives.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in a communication or public relations role.
- Proven experience in media relations, content development, and social media management.
- Experience in crisis communication is a strong asset.
- Exposure to government, agriculture, or development sectors is an advantage.
