The European Union hand over J$43 million worth of tractors and implements to the Jamaican Government under the Hills2OceanJA project
Yesterday, October 9, 2025 the European Union through Planning Institute of Jamaica hosted the Official Hand- Over of Four 90hp Agricultural Rubber Wheel Tractors and Implements to RADA under the “A Jamaican Path from Hills to Ocean Project”. The Ceremony took place at the Kingston Industrial Agencies, 583 Spanish Town Road, Kingston.
The tractors (and implements) valued at $43M will be integrated in RADA Tractor Services and used in the Parishes of Trelawny, St. Mary, St. Ann and St. Andrew to support sustainable agricultural practices in targeted Water Management Unit areas.
WMUs are defined geographic areas created for organizing and applying strategies related to climate change management.
This climate resilient project is jointly funded by the European Union Global Climate Change Alliance Plus, and the Government of Jamaica. The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) is the executing agency, with support from two implementing partner the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and the National Environmental Planning Agency (NEPA).
