Jamaican hot peppers (Capsicum Spp.) and value added products are hotly sought after by lovers of spicy foods both locally and internationally. 

Dasheen is sometimes called taro, eddo, or malanga, although malanga is grouped as Xanthosoma sp. Dasheen is a tall growing tropical plant that resembles the ornamental elephant ear plant and the cocoyam.

Callaloo is a leafy succulent plant that is consumed as a vegetable. It is planted year round in all parishes. It is considered a winter crop by most exporters, due to the fact that demand for this vegetable is highest during the winter season.

The Breadfruit is a common food tree in  Jamaica .  It was introduced from Tahiti in about 1792 by Captain William Bligh, and soon became an important food source for slaves. 

Ensure that all projecting nails, splinters and sharp edges are removed from handling containers. Where field baskets are used, make sure that all protruding nails and staples are properly clenched.

The tomato is the edible, often red, berry of the plant Solanum lycopersicum, commonly known as a tomato plant.
