Contract to Supply Ten (10) Tractors

The signing of a contract between Kingston Industrial Agencies Limited (KIA) and the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), to supply ten (10) 4-cylinder rubber wheel tractors. The total value of the contract is thirty million, two hundred thousand, and four hundred and seven dollars and ninety two cents ($30,200,407.92).




Background:

The Government of Jamaica seeks to mechanize the small and medium sized farming sector through the utilization of appropriate technologies and to bring appropriate equipment within the economic reach of the average small and medium sized farmer.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing a Farm Mechanization Programme that will contribute to an increase in productivity in the agricultural sector. As part of this programme, RADA is implementing a tractor service that will assist farmers in reducing land preparation costs and time.
